How ReloomVR began

ReloomVR began when Zvi Goffer filmed his best friend watching football with his ailing father in 360° VR. He still tells the story the same simple way. It was a quiet Sunday afternoon. Not long after, the father passed away.

When they played the recording back, his friend put on the headset and was right back in that room. Hearing his dad’s voice again. Seeing him smile. Feeling that day, not only remembering it.

That afternoon is the reason ReloomVR is a company at all. Zvi did not set out to start one. He was filming a friend. Once he saw what the footage could do, once he understood it could give someone their father’s voice back, there was no version of his life that did not involve trying to do that again, on purpose, for other people.

Why relive, not rewatch

At ReloomVR, Zvi captures weddings, events, and family milestones in immersive 360° virtual reality so people can step back inside them and truly relive the day. He is careful about that word. Relive, not rewatch. A photo album lets you look at a celebration. What he filmed that Sunday let his friend be there again.

That difference shapes everything behind the lens. Where he stands so a wedding party forgets the camera is there. What he lets run long because a moment has not finished happening yet. What he refuses to over-produce, because presence, once you start staging it, stops being presence. The goal was never a beautiful video. It was the ten seconds where someone forgets they are wearing a headset at all.

Today ReloomVR focuses on preserving core memories: the moments people wait years for and wish they could experience again. Not every minute of an event. The ones that matter enough to want back. If a film does not feel like being there, Zvi does not consider it finished.

Why he still does this

Zvi did not build ReloomVR to sell a novelty. He built it because he watched what a recording did for one grieving friend, and he could not unsee it. Every wedding, every milestone, and every event ReloomVR films now is, in a real sense, an attempt to hand someone else that same afternoon. A way back into a room they thought they would only ever have in memory.

He co-founded the company with his brother Manu, who turned that one afternoon into something a family can actually book. The crews, the standards, and the care that let a feeling that happened once by accident happen on purpose, on a stranger’s wedding day. They do that work from ReloomVR’s studio in New York.
